Commonly referred to as the “East Village” by residents of the area, Hastings is a family friendly community which offers beautiful housing options, plenty of greenspace and ideal location along Vancouver Harbour.

There are however, a number of multi-family houses which have made their way into the community as a response to the growth the city has experienced over the last several years. Hastings is an extremely popular area thanks to the many waterfront parks and entertainment venues as well as the working waterfront which is located along Commissioners Street. Set along the waterway is New Brighton Park which is filled with residents and visitors especially during the summer months when amenities such as the community pool can be used. Other times of year residents and their families can be seen strolling along the scenic waterway. 

Farther inland, Hastings Park is another spectacular space for community members to gather and is also the home of Pacific National Exhibition which hosts concerts, speakers, events, and the Vancouver Giants Hockey Team. Other attractions within the area include the Hastings Park Racecourse and the Playland Amusement Park. 

Residents can also find a number of neighbourhood parks mixed throughout Hastings as well as the Hastings Sunrise Community Center which features a number of programs for residents of all ages as well as amenities such as a gymnasium, and fitness center. 

Hastings is home to a great shopping district which is known as “East Village”. Home to an eclectic offering of shops, stores and retailers, residents can quickly access this district which is located along East Hastings Street.
