Whalley is one of the six Town Centres in Surrey, B.C. The most densely populated area, Whalley encompasses both residential and commercial areas. There is a population of approximately 76,000 residents in Whalley.
Homes for sale in Whalley can be found in both single family dwellings and condominiums or townhomes. Whalley features the largest concentration of high rise buildings, the urban area attracts many business professionals, those looking to be close to the city’s bustling downtown and families alike.

Whalley, Surrey, Community Amenities
Whalley is a fun and vibrant area of the city of Surrey and offers its residents ideal access to neighboring cities and towns. The only area of Surrey that is serviced by Metro Vancouver’s SkyTrain rapid Transit System, Whalley is an ideal location for commuters and those who frequently travel into Vancouver.
The area itself features many shops, restaurants, well rated schools, recreation areas, parks and more. Whalley annually hosts events for both residents and visitors from all over to enjoy. The WinterFest is held during the winter every year and the Children’s Fest is a popular event as the area is home to B.C.’s youngest population with ⅓ of its residents being under 18.
The North Surrey Recreation Centre is a great feature of Whalley and provides visitors with access to a large community indoor pool and 2 ice rinks. Other notable attractions within Whalley is the main branch of Surrey’s Libraries, Surrey campus of the Simon Fraser University, Surrey City Hall and the Royal Canadian Theatre which puts on a number of events and plays.
Whalley offers a number of greenspaces and parks within its boundaries. A.H.P. Matthew Park, Green Timbers Park, Whalley Athletic Club, Tom Binnie Park and Bog Park feature a number of walking trails, picnic areas, scenic sites and playgrounds.
Central City Shopping Centre is situated in the heart of the area and provides a multi use buildings that houses a university campus, a large number of retailers and offices.
Whalley, Surrey, School Information
Schools located in Whalley are serviced and operated by the Surrey Public School District. There are a number of schooling options for families to consider within the direct Town Centre as well as nearby areas.
Old Yale Road Elementary School and K. B. Woodward Elementary School are both located in the Whalley neighborhood and provides excellent education to students from kindergarten through grade eight.
Kwantlen Park Secondary School is located nearby and will complete students' public school education. Classes for students in grades nine through twelve are available as well as a long list of programs, clubs, groups, sports teams and more.
Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Elementary School is also located in Whalley and provides classes for students from pre-kindergarten through grade seven.
